Pranayama Breathing

Updated: Sep 11, 2018

Anne Johnson, owner of True Yoga, demonstrating Pranayama Breathing.

Deep breathing, good for your lungs and respiratory system. This is the first exercise we do in every class. Breathing in the warm air warms your body up from the inside out, preparing you for your practice. Notice there is only a slight bend at the the cervical spine, this is not a backbend. Notice when elbows are together and when elbows separate, they are always high, never dipping down or swooping. Always maintain maximum body weight in heels, stomach muscles contracted and chest lifted..
